Audition Notice

The Relevant Stage – San Pedro’ Musical Theatre Company will hold auditions for 6^th Street Burlesque on Monday, August 23 from 7PM to 9PM at Warner Grand Theatre, 478 West 6^th Street, San Pedro, CA  90731.  Auditions are by appointment.  Please send an email message to The Relevant Stage to make your audition appointment.  Include a resume, photo, and/or video link as well as your contact information.

6^th Street Burlesque is a return to 1940.  All comedy, striptease, songs and dance will be from 1940 or earlier.  The show is scripted, but flexible.

Seeking:

·         1^st Comic – Male, 20’s to 40’s – youthful and upbeat

·         2^nd Comic – Male, 30’s to 50’s – Straight-faced and serious, but with great timing

·         3^rd Comic – Male, 20’s to 50’s – a supporting player to all sketches

·         Singer #1 – Female, 20’s to 30’s – Torch song singer

·         Comedienne – Female, 20’s to 40’s – Able to play the foil in many sketches.  Ability to dance and sing.

·         Burlesque Soloists (5) – Each Dancer will perform 2-3 times, either in solo performance or in groups.  Ability to act and sing is a plus.  Tattoos not preferred, covered tattoos okay.  Strict 1940 or earlier look.

·         Female Dancers – Ensemble that supports Burlesque numbers and Dance numbers that surround solo songs.

For Audition:  All actors/dancers/singers be prepared to cold-read scenes from the script.   If you sing, prepare a song appropriate for the era (pre-1940).  If you dance prepare a solo dance number, preferably to music from the era (pre-1940).

6^th Street Burlesque performs on September 17 & 18 (Friday & Saturday) at 8PM.  Rehearsals will be on weekday evenings Mon-Thursday.
